Welcome to the world of Comedia dell arte! Meet Harlekino, Capitano and the Zanni!
Soon you will feel, that you have been knowing them since your childhood: Both characters and humour seem to be timeless and have inspired countless great artists.

You will get a brief introduction into the history of Comedia del arte. We will look into the different characters and where the are centered in the body, how the walk, gestures, reference animal, relation to other characters, function In the plot and some characteristical ideas for improvisation (Lazzi).

The specific content of the workshop depends on the available time. The workshop length can be anything from 3 hours to several days or weeks.

Recommended educational programs

While the workshop for puppet technic teaches you how to get the best out of an existing puppet by discovering its technical and poetical qualities and flaws, this workshop teaches you how to approach the process of building a puppet.
Pretty much depending on the available time we can either delve into some very simple but powerful techniques and materials to quickly build a puppet, that can be used on stage.

If there are more then just a few hours available, it is possible to explore some more profound techniques and materials, that are similar to carving in wood.
This is mainly pointed towards practically experienced students.
